We spend so much time educating the mind, but what about the heart?..We spend so much time focused on acquiring knowledge and getting good grades. Sadly, many of us became adults who ended up feeling disconnected and unfulfilled, in our lives and careers...As parents, many of us struggle to understand what empathy, kindness, self love and compassion really mean, let alone how to embody these values and teach them to our children...I truly believe that if we want to prepare our kids for the world outside, we need an education system that balances heart and mind. I realized as a parent, I have a responsibility, and an opportunity to be part of creating the change I wish to see in education...I became inspired by the idea of ‘re-writing the alphabet’ to teach young children heart-based values — like compassion, kindness, empathy, self love, and gratitude. I want to be part of creating an education movement that teaches children how to use their minds in service to their hearts...I wanted to do my part in helping to raise a generation of socially and emotionally aware kids. Kids that know who they are and what life is about. Kids that are loving and kind, open-minded, unconditionally caring, and have a desire to do good in the world.....
